Issue: Some users report intermittent crashing of Share Trade Tracker after upgrade to the latest major release v3.x.x. The issue does not affect all users.


With the help of a Share Trade Tracker customer a resolution has been identified that involves the disabling of a Dropbox feature to then allow Share Trade Tracker to operate as designed.

It appears that the problem results from the Dropbox processing on the Share Trade Tracker file as it is opened.

Resolution

The following resolution is available for all users of Share Tracker Tracker where this problem is occurring on your workstation. Access the Dropbox Preferences via the Dropbox icon in the bottom right of most Windows systems and then change the Dropbox Badge to be set to "Never Show". In testing it was found that any of the other settings would result in a crash of Share Trade Tracker "Always Show" or "If others present".
